Policy advocacy and influence are at the core of our activities
National laws, regulations and practices that impact business and employment are often developed from policies established through the ILO and other international and regional forums.
The subject matter and priorities of these discussions are complex and constantly evolving. Some policy areas, such as International Labour Standards, Industrial Relations, and Occupational Health and Safety, are well-established. Others, such as Diversity, International Labour Migration, and the Future of Work are more dynamic and reflect some of the most pressing challenges of today’s global political, social and economic realities.
Our objectives are to analyse these trends and help shape the global agenda through an evidence-based and practical approach. We consolidate our own expertise and the views and experiences of our global membership to ensure that these policy debates reflect the interests of business and employers.
The right focus, wide expertise and the engagement of our global members and corporate partners make IOE a powerful and balanced voice for business.
